This kitchen and laundry were designed for a wonderful family who came to me with a vision that blended Scandinavian warmth, eclectic charm, and the character of their home’s original heritage. Drawing inspiration from the client’s Swedish roots and their nostalgic memories of cosy 80s–90s interiors and classic Ikea pieces, the goal was to create spaces that felt welcoming, lived-in, and unmistakably “theirs.”
Their brief emphasised a neutral foundation layered with warmth, gentle colour, and moments of personality. Warm whites, soft greens, and touches of yellow guided the palette, while subtle textures and natural materials helped maintain a sense of calm and simplicity. It was equally important to retain some of the home’s existing character, allowing modern functionality to harmonise with the charm of the original architecture.
The final design is a true reflection of the clients—inviting, thoughtful, quietly playful, and deeply personal. Working with them was an absolute joy, and I feel incredibly grateful to have created spaces that support their family life while celebrating the style and memories that matter most to them.
