This project was designed for a family of four who had recently moved into their new home, but quickly realised the kitchen wasn’t working for how they actually lived.
While the bones were there, the space lacked flow, storage, and the functionality needed for an avid home cook.
So we reworked it — starting with the layout (always).
The focus was on creating better flow, increasing pantry storage, and designing a kitchen that felt effortless to use day to day. A generous island now anchors the space, providing both a functional prep zone and a place for the family to gather, while full-height joinery maximises storage and creates a seamless, integrated feel.
Aesthetically, the brief was coastal, but with depth and personality. The clients wanted something calm and relaxed, yet still reflective of their own style, with a subtle nod to mid-century modern.
We introduced soft timber tones, a muted green palette, and natural materials to bring warmth and texture into the space, without overwhelming it. Layered with greenery, the result feels grounded, inviting, and connected to its surroundings.
This is a kitchen that works hard but still feels calm, designed to support the way this family lives, cooks, and comes together every day.
